Here is your chance to get ready for upcoming herding trials and hone your duck handling skills. AKC and AHBA Judge Joyce Norris from Waltonville, Illinois will be holding a Duck Herding Clinic on August 14-15, 2010. Perfect for teams ready to trial or already trialing, this information packed two-day clinic will be held at the Laughing Frog Farm in Kansasville, WI (home of Don & Tresa Laferty). Saturday will be a handling clinic with multiple runs on the ducks. We also plan on video taping these runs and reviewing them. The "A" Course will be set up in a nice, grassy pasture, and we will have plenty of room for viewing. Sunday will focus on how the judge sees your run and have some unique course training techniques developed by Joyce. We will also review the rules, discuss how points are lost, and test our judging skills while running through the course.

Pricing - Saturday, August 14 $60 for a working spot and $35.00 for auditing. Sunday, August 15 $60 for a working spot and $35.00 for auditing. Special price if you sign up for a working spot for both days: $110.00. Included in the cost are snacks and beverages throughout the day. Lunch will be pot-luck.

Joyce Norris has been involved with the herding sport for over 13 years and has triple herding champions on her dogs including advanced titles in sheep, cattle and ducks. Joyce has been raising and leasing ducks for herding trials for over 6 years, presenting Duck Herding Demos for 7 years and has been an active AKC and AHBA judge for 4 years. This is her second year of doing duck clinics. In April of 2009, she earned a perfect score of 100 on Started B course ducks. Very few perfect scores in herding for sure!

In addition to the 2-day clinic, Joyce will be offering private lessons on-site in Kansasville, Friday (8/13). Both “A” course and “B” course will be offered.
